Respect,
Respect is earned not given is a true saying ,but that doesn’t mean everyone doesn’t deserve to be respected. Often respect is selectively given but the truth is giving someone respect is an indication of who you are not others.
Respect people because that’s who you are and respect yourself enough to walk away from people, places and situations that have no respect for you.
Often we react to the disrespect people show us by disrespecting them but dropping down to someones level isn’t always necessary , sometimes people perceive and do things from their level of understanding and teachings so they fail to comprehend the level that you are at and try and bring you down to their level.
Is this worth it? I believe not, one of the key components of earning and having self respect is to be respective enough of the indifference that people have while you make a stand.
It’s not about proving a point all the time, sometimes it is about standing by your point and not wasting time on the lack of understanding from people.
An eye for an eye will make the whole world go blind.
I’ve learnt this through my life and it has thought me a lot of patience and calmness, I’m no saint I’m still trying to achieve this.
So the next time you find yourself in such situation remember to respect and respect yourself enough to move away from the situations that do not favour you.
Hope you had a good read.
